Chucked out your voting forms? Didn't realise you cared? Not on the Electoral Roll? DON'T PANIC! There's still time and here's how you do it...
When does voting close?
Midday this Friday 5th – they must have received your voting forms (by post or in person) by then.
I’ve got my papers, have I still got time?
Yes, but you need to post them before 5pm Wednesday 3rd June OR drop them into WDC offices in Forum North or the Ruakaka Service Centre before 12pm midday Friday 5th June.
I’m a Whangarei resident, can I vote?
If you’re on the Whangarei Electoral Roll (General or Maori) you can vote immediately – check your enrolment details here – then scroll down to see how to cast a special vote.
If you’re not on the Whangarei Electoral Roll (General or Maori) you can still get on it – but you have to move quickly!
How do I get on the Roll?
Do it in person at any NZ Post Shop (ask for an enrolment pack) before 5pm Thursday 4th. You’ll need ID.
They will post you your voting papers, but they will be too late so you have to place a special vote in person at WDC offices in Forum North or the Ruakaka Service Centre any time up until 12pm midday Friday (take your ID there too!).
Doing it online is only going to work in time if you have a verified RealMe account. If you do, you can instantaneously enrol online here (choose the RealMe option on the right).
How do I cast a special vote?
You can cast a special vote in person at WDC offices in Forum North or the Ruakaka Service Centre. Make sure you take your ID. You can do it any time up until 12pm midday Friday (but do it today people! Today!).
What if I lost/didn’t receive/chucked out my voting papers?
You need to cast a special vote in person at WDC offices in Forum North or the Ruakaka Service Centre. Make sure you take your ID. You can do it any time up until 12pm midday Friday (but do it today people! today!).
